Cities facing rapid urban growth struggle with informality and housing affordability. Fitted Projects team members supported nine secondary cities in Somaliland, Ethiopia, and Uganda to make simple plans for urban expansion on their peripheries. The plans covered an area up to 5x larger than the current extent and deployed simple infrastructure and public spaces to produce an urban fabric that could better cope with climate change and create an integrated metropolitan labor market.
